Shame On The Jews Who Support Trump
After Trump’s Nazi-esque rally at the world’s most famous arena the other night in New York City that brought back memories of the actual Nazi rally there in 1939, this Jew has something to say.
I am a proud 2nd generation Jewish-American and I’m deeply bothered by the on-going minority Jewish support for former President Trump. For me, “never again” is more than just a two-word catchphrase. I believe it! And to believe it, is to live it every day, every moment of your life. When I see American Nazis openly backing Trump, that’s all the information I need when it comes to knowing which side to be on. And yes- in America, despite all the calls for unity and coming together as “Americans,” we still can freely choose sides. In fact, picking sides is American. And I refuse to be on any side that includes Nazis. Period.
So, when I see fellow Jews bury their heads in silence or deference by standing shoulder to shoulder with the Nazis who support Trump, I am completely dumb-founded and disgusted. When I hear Trump say Jews who don’t support him will be the reason he loses I hear the exact same thing a Nazi would say. When I hear that Trump said, “I need the kind of Generals Hitler had,” I’m both terrified and angry as fuck at anyone who supports him, but particularly any Jew.
When I hear Trump talk about immigrants poisoning the blood of our country or comparing good genes with bad genes, I know he echoes Hitler’s and Stalin’s rhetoric. Why don’t roughly a third of American Jews hear it for what it is?
Antisemitism and violence against Jewish America increased dramatically after Trump became President. The Anti-Defamation League and other groups who study the matter trace the reasons directly related to Trump’s hate speech and tolerance for white supremacists. Contrary to the minority opinion, Jews in the United States were far less safe under Trump’s control.
When I hear Jews say, “Trump and Republicans are better for Israel” I wonder how they’ve actually reached this conclusion. Other than moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, which oh by the way, further increased tension in the region, what has Trump actually done for Israel that ensures their well-being and future? For starters, Trump only cares about himself. He’s never cared about anyone else- ever. Trump is the most narcissistic public figure in American history. Why would he possibly care about the Jews- especially Jews who can’t vote for him! Just because his daughter married one? I guarantee you he despises that unholy union. Trump’s just relieved she married someone as money-driven and corrupt as himself.
Trump cares about Jews and Israel for the same reason he cares about abortion and building the wall and grabbing women by the pussy- he thinks it helps him personally and politically.
As for the other Republicans en masse who frequently espouse their love and support of Israel, I guess some Jews need to be reminded these very same people think Jews are going to hell and the Jewish religion is not legitimate. Conservative Christians will gladly instruct you that the only path to salvation and heaven is through Jesus. Kinda’ leaves the Jews out. On top of that, Israel only matters to them because it’s the land of the forthcoming rapture and the birthplace of Jesus. And they cannot allow Muslims and Arabs to take over that land. So, in a sense, they do, in fact, support an Israel led by the Jews (but, make no mistake, they certainly would prefer an Israel to be governed exclusively by white Christians.)
When I hear Jews say, “Trump puts more money in my pocket” I say- at what expense? The numbers clearly show the economy and stock market have reached record highs under Democrat Presidents in the last half century- and not because of Trump or other Republican leadership and policy. For argument’s sake, let’s say you are personally financially better off with Trump in office. It won’t change the fact Nazis will also be happy about it.
When I hear Jews talk negatively about immigrants and agree with Trump’s policy of rounding them up and separating them from families I think about what Nazis would do if given the same opportunity, again.
“There shall be one law for the native and the immigrant who lives among you” Exodus 12:49
Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch, elaborating on the meaning of never turning another person away from comfort or refuge, explained that there are no preconditions for receiving basic rights other than being human: “The absolute equality in the eyes of the law between the native and the foreigner forms the very basic foundation of Jewish jurisdiction.”
When I hear Jews say, “I’m against abortion.” Ok- well, according to Jewish law, the mother’s health takes priority over her unborn child. In other words- a Jewish mother’s life is sacred and needs to be protected at all costs. Tell that to Texas or Florida or Georgia or Missouri or any other Republican led state that’s restricted or outright eliminated abortion access. Do you think for one second if the U.S. Congress passes a national abortion bill without exceptions, that Trump would veto it? How’s that going to protect the mother’s life? Pregnant women are already dying right now because of Trump’s prior actions and policies as President. Wake the fuck up Jews for Trump!
When I hear Jews say, “The hell with the environment….” Oh, wait a second- that’s not something any genuine Jew would say because Jewish law teaches us to respect the land we live on, the air we breathe and the water we drink. Jewish Americans plant trees in Israel both for symbolic reasons and to stimulate real-world growth and prosperity. Do you actually believe Trump gives a damn about more trees? His singular energy focus is on the oil and gas industry! You know who benefits from more oil production and consumption? It sure as shit ain’t Jews or Israel.
When I hear Jews say, “Some books should be banned…” Oh, another one that no righteous Jew says, unless we’re talking about banning Nazi books. Yet, Republicans and Trump are all about banning a wide range of literature they don’t like or banning any free speech that criticizes them. Reading and education are cornerstones of the Jewish people. It’s well documented Trump doesn’t read or care to learn anything new. He’s openly said he loves “the uneducated.” Do you know who really loves banning things and the uneducated? I’ll give you a hint. Their name begins with an “N” and ends in “I.”
When I hear Jews say, “I’m worried about Bernie Sanders and his pro-Palestine policies…” Memo alert- Bernie Sanders is no longer running for President and has very little influence over the current Democratic Party. Beyond that, you know who else is worried about Bernie Sanders? Nazis! (Hint: It’s because he’s JEWISH.)
For fact’s sake- are Jewish Trumpers aware that both of Biden’s children married Jews and that Kamala Harris’s husband is Jewish?
I do not care what your reason is for supporting Trump. I don’t care about your personal politics or beliefs. Regardless of how you justify your Trump vote, the simple fact remains- you and the Nazis stand on the same side. And yes, I fully acknowledge you can’t control who else votes for Trump. You only have control on where you choose to stand. I choose to stand on the opposite side of Nazis. Every time.
